Recently I posted about my new Acer Ferrari Liquid E Smartphone. After initially causing anger, I can now say that my Acer Ferrari Liquid E Smartphone is indeed a worldly thing that makes life a little better. It makes checking my emails more convenient, plus whenever I’m in a public place and needs to say my mantra, I don’t have to take out my mala, but, instead I can just use a specific free downloadable application called Meditation Tracker which is available for free in Android Market.
However, it did occur to me that given there’s a growing awareness, consciousness, and interest about health, there are very few iTunes and Android Market applications that’s health related. The few that’s in the online stores are limited to proper diet and exercise instructions or guide. But I really haven’t seen anything that can actually save lives right when you need it.
So I’m really happy when I came across this online article about a new application of a Smartphone that may save lives.
Basically, you touch a button, and it sends your pulse to a 24/7 medical center. If you’re not in any immediate danger, what it’ll do is send you an sms, but if you’re in serious condition and is in a health emergency, you’ll receive a call to inform you that ‘an ambulance is on its way’.
The technology was invented in Singapore. So I really hope that we can have that here in the Philippines soon. Read the full article here.
